to see why The Wilcox Emporium Warehouse is a popular
destination for locals and tourists alike. One stop offers
visitors the diversity of more than 200 vendors, four
featured shops, a food court, and the area's only
micro-brewery.
The
Emporium opened for business August 1 1996, but the
building's history has deep roots in the culture and
heritage of North Carolina's High Country.
This 60,000 square foot facility, now filled with art,
antiques, and countless other treasures, was once the home
of Wilcox Drug Company and Wilcox Natural Products. Walking
into this building is like taking a trip back in time. The
structure's history is documented on the walls. Photographs
bring to life more than 100 years of family tradition that
enhance the charm and character of the Wilcox Emporium
