| The Brookside Inn is
situated on 2 acres in a park-like setting within walking distance of shops and
restaurants in the mountain resort village of Blowing Rock. All guest rooms face a
quarter-acre lake and a deck off the Brookside Lodge overlooks a brook. Three villas,
contained in one building, are nestled aside from the inn. All have kitchen facilities and
two have gas log fireplaces. Situated in the center of the Inn is a lodge facility
complete with leather furniture, billiards table, and an inviting fireplace where guest
gather from morning until late evening to relax, enjoy homemade bread, and meet their
fellow travelers. Quilts and ceiling fans to stir the mountain air recall an earlier era;
telephones, cable TV and air conditioning are welcome modern amenities. Off the back of
the lodge are decks that overlook the beginning of the south fork of the New River, a quit
stream for meditation and relaxation. |
