| If you are seeking an
authentic mountain experience, you will find it at the Alpine Inn. Built at the same time
the Blue Ridge Parkway was being constructed, it offered a mountain getaway for those of
moderate means. But there was no economy on its breathe-taking views, its sunrises, its
clear, crisp mountain water and air. Alpine Inn is quaint, rustic and charming.
Described by Signature magazine as "clinging
enchantingly" to the side of Grassy Mountain, guests at the Alpine are assured of one
of the most magnificent mountain views to be found. According to the Johnson
City Press, "its offerings are not commonly found, and visitors who like
its style tend to return." While chosen by the Charlotte Observer
staffers as, "one of our favorite places to spend a night or weekend", the Nashville
Tennessean proclaims our natural, healthy, balcony breakfasts are, "a
total treat".

From Blue Ridge Parkway
Exit at little Switzerland exit, approx. milepost 334. Come down to
2nd stop sign. Turn right onto 226A. Alpine Inn is one mile down on 226A.
From I-40 (Westbound)
Exit at the Marion/Spruce Pine exit (exit 86). Turn right onto
221/226, heading North. At the 4th traffic light (approx. 10 miles), turn left onto
226N. Go one mile, and turn right to continure on 226 N. Go approx. 5 miles to
the top of the mountain, and turn left onto 226A towards Little Switzerland. Alpine
Inn is 4 miles down on 226A, one mile past downtown Little Switzerland.
